Bank jobs could go to India
The National Australia Bank is considering moving 400 back-office jobs to India. In an email sent to workers yesterday, the bank said the Indian outsourcing company Genpact would help in an audit of business areas including internet sales, data entry and email sales. Paul Schroder, the national secretary of the Finance Sector Union, said about 300 of the jobs targeted in the review were in Melbourne. But a spokesman for the bank said yesterday that it was creating more jobs than redundancies. Jacqueline Maley
