Many businesses use contract workers for data entry jobs, as their data entry needs will rarely be consistent. As getting contract work can be as simple as joining a recruitment agency that specialises in getting data entry work, you may find this to be the easiest path towards longer term data entry jobs or other office jobs.
One of the biggest reasons that offices can be so reluctant to hire people who have no experience for permanent positions is due to the fact that not everyone is suited to an office environment. Once someone is hired on permanently it can be difficult to dismiss them.
